Senator Godswill Akpabio (PDP-Akwa Ibom) has stated that he will ensure the victory of the ruling party in his state in 2019.
He made the comment while addressing his supporters in his Ukana country home on Sunday, December 9, Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the senator insisted that victory for the APC was a done deal as he pointed out that the party enjoyed massive support from its members.
He said: “Akwa Ibom today is 98% for APC. It is not about me but God. Because you people are praying to God to save Akwa Ibom from the misrule of the PDP. We shall continue like this until victory is ours in 2019.
“Even the blind man can see already that the APC will win convincingly at the centre, in the state and at the House of Assembly.”
He further stated that the people of the state were appreciative of the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari in infrastructural development and the various appointments his administration had offered people from the state.
Akpabio called on the people of the state to massively vote for the president’s re-election and that of other candidates of the party in 2019, as that was the only way they could reciprocate his kindness.
Akpabio, a former governor of the state, also berated the performance of his successor, Udom Emmanuel, saying the governor could not boast of any tangible project he initiated and completed, after almost four years.
He expressed shock that Emmanuel could address a press conference to insult him, despite having brought him (Emmanuel) from Lagos to become governor.
Akpabio chided Emmanuel over what he perceived as the governor’s hypocritical campaign slogan tagged, ‘Only God’.
He said: “Only God could have made it possible for someone who was never a party member to become governor. Only God could have made it possible for someone who has no party card or know what is called a ward to become governor.
“Only God could have made someone who could not have stood election on his own even as a councillor and win to be brought from somewhere and be made governor.”
He called on his supporters to respond appropriately and vote against the PDP administration in 2019.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Senator Godswill Akpabio expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari will record a massive victory in Akwa Ibom State in the 2019 presidential election.
Akpabio, alongside Senator Ita Enang, an aide to the president on National Assembly matters (Senate), had led a delegation from the Akwa Ibom state APC on a courtesy visit to Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
He later told journalists that Akwa Ibom state would be the first state to fall for the APC in 2019.
