He called on Idris Ibrahim to resign because the police were allegedly being used to undermine the democratic process.

“We want to do this advance warning that we are lovers of democracy and peace,” Secondus said.

We want the peace of our nation; so, let them note all they have done, even in the case of Kwara and Bauchi, where we warned clearly that they announced different results.

“That will no longer be acceptable. We therefore call on the INEC leadership headed by Prof Yakubu to quietly resign because he does not have strong will and courage to conduct free and fair election. He should resign.

“We also call on the IGP to resign and go because I have never witnessed in the history of our nation, from the First Republic even in the military regime, we have never seen this kind of act and the way and manner the police force have been used by the government of APC against the people."

The PDP chairman said members of his party are being killed on a daily basis. He alleged that leaders of his party had been marked to be killed.

Meanwhile, the federal government has told the US to be cautious in granting visa to the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in order not to create the impression of endorsing him for the 2019 election.

The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, gave the government's position at an interactive session with media executives in Abuja on Thursday, November 29.

Mohammed said that the government was aware of the move by the former vice president to lobby the US to lift the visa ban imposed on him, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
