No matter how much you make sis, you still deserve to be spoiled and treated like a lady - Sonia Ogbonna

Sonia, wife to Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna, has taken to addressing a particular issue that concerns gender equality and what it truly means. This is coming after the widespread rumour that she is separated from her husband.

Sonia’s discussion about gender was prompted by an image she had seen online. In the picture, it was depicted that while females protest for equal rights, they are not ready to embrace the other side of the coin which is equal responsibilities.

This was meant to attack feminism for being an outright defence of partial equality. Sonia who did not agree with the message passed across by the image shared it on her Instagram page and then went ahead to counter it.

Based on what Sonia wrote, she was of the opinion that it was unfair to expect too much from woman and not give anything in return.

The beautiful lady said that women were already super humans as it is, given that they have to take care of their family, go through the stress of childbirth and mothering, and still work to also assist the breadwinner in the home.

Hence, for Sonia, it was practically out of line to say that women were running away from equal responsibilities. Besides, she was of the thought that regardless of how much women were earning or how independent they are, they still deserved to be spoiled by men.

"Jokers. Lol but y’all dont wanna talk about you NEEDING a woman to step up and take a part of “MALE RESPONSIBILITIES” and participate in hustle EQUALLY (if not even more) as men do {cuz nowadays one person making bread can’t feed/sustain the whole family most of the time -meaning men partly failed in fulfilling their fundamental duty-*sorry*notSorry* fact only } or cuz you don’t want a babe who “just sits at home and does nothing”(besides cooking, cleaning, raising kids, taking care of the whole home including you and maybe your parents too)*yuck unattractive* .

You want her to hold you down when times get hard but she must do it with her head down & she can’t just have a mind on her own when it comes to making decisions as she must “submit to u and show respect” so someone won’t feel a less of a man. But then, still expect her to carry on with ALL THE DOMESTIC & NON DOMESTIC DUTIES the very same way your great grandmother from the village did.

Oh wow! Otherwise we judge- is she really a “wife material” ? Bye! I’m not a bitter lady and I love and respect men (I’m raising one duhh) but don’t ever neglect the fact that A LOT is expected from a woman in this 21st century (it’s not even realistic) and very little credit is given in return, (just childbirth & pregnancy alone-is it beans?lol) and then ,when we stand for ourselves- “feminists this ,feminists that”.

We are indeed super humans. And im so sad when I see a fellow woman who is not aware how important is for us to support each other. And let me tell you straight up- I dont care how much money u make and how independent you are sis, or how strong you are to stand for yourself-you still deserve to be SPOILED and treated like a lady,a Queen that you are by any man who wants to tap into you blessings ,time and space.. Argue with ya whaaaat? you already know All Love "

Many people were quite passionate about the matter brought to the table by the lady. They took to commenting and expressing their thoughts about the issue. For the most part, most people agreed with her.

This is coming after IK Ogbonna, husband to Sonia, addressed the rumour surrounding his relationship. Although he did not open up on whether he was really separated from his wife, he went on to say that no marriage is perfect. This infers that in spite of the challenges he is currently facing with his woman, he intends to overcome them with her by his side.
