Nigerians are hopelessly frustrated, disillusioned - Obasanjo

- Ex-President Obasanjo said Nigerians are frustrated due to the state of the country

- He, however, advised people not to lose hope, saying God will bring succour to Nigeria

- The former president added that Nigeria would have gone into extinction if not for the love of God

Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has once again commented on the state of affairs of the country, saying that many Nigerians are “hopelessly frustrated and disillusioned”.

Speaking at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, Obasanjo, however, admonished Nigerians not to lose hope, adding that the “God of miracle would bring succour to the land, The Nation reports.

The former president said this when the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolade Osinowo, led the candidates of the party in the state, including the governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, the running mate, Bisi Okeowo-Bolade and Titi Oseni-Gomez, for the 2019 general elections to him.

Legit.ng gathers that Obasanjo said it is not the fault of God that Nigeria failed to attain its potential despite the great endowments.

He blamed the current state the country on the “conscious and unconscious choices of the people of Nigeria.”

He further stated that Nigeria as a country has made numerous mistakes which could have plunged it to extinction, but said the country has continued to exist and remained as one because of the love and grace of God upon her.

Meanwhile, despite his father's insistence that President Muhammadu Buhari should not seek re-election in 2019, Olajunwon, Obasanjo's son, has joined the campaign team of the president ahead of the general elections.

Legit.ng reports that Olajunwo was officially received in Abuja, on Wednesday, October 17, by the director of strategic communications and official spokesperson of PMB campaign headquarters, Festus Keyamo and the Dan Amarna of Dutse and director of logistics, PMB campaign organisation, Alhaji Nasiru Danu.

Olujonwo Obasanjo, had recently expressed his willingness to work for the re-election bid of President Buhari.
