England gave outgoing captain Wayne Rooney a heroic testimonial after beating the United States of America football team 3-0 at the Wembley Stadium on Thursday, November 15.
Though, the DC United striker started the game on the bench, goals from Jesse Lingard, Trent Alexander-Arnold and newly invited striker Callum Wilson gave Gareth Southgate's side the win.
The game was a one sided match as the efforts of Dave Sarachan's men weren't enough to get a consolation for the north American country.

Rooney played his 120th match for the Three Lions at the prestigious Wembley Stadium and his late minute volley was prevented from going into the net by Brad Guzan.

The 33-year-old former Everton forward was introduced into the game in the 58th minute after taking off Jesse Lingard who opened scoring for the hosts.

It was indeed a happy ending for Wayne Rooney in his illustrious career for the English national team.
