- Man United manager Jose Mourinho was furious with the attitude of his players against Crystal Palace on Saturday
- The Portuguese quest for a top-four finish by the end of the year now hangs in the balance
- United are now 14 points adrift of league leaders City after the unconvincing 0-0 draw with Palace
Manchester United Jose Mourinho has blamed his misfiring stars for the below-the-par display against Crystal Palace in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford again.
The encounter saw the Red Devils fail to score in the barren draw against the Eagles, a performance saw the Portuguese tactician query his players’ desire for honours, after falling 14 points adrift of table topper Man City.
According to a UK sun report, Mourinho’s quest for a top-four finish by the end of the year, might not see the light of the day following the missed points against Palace.

The former Chelsea manager stressed it was now tougher for Man United to achieve their set goals during his post-match interview.
“It was the first of eight Premier League games until the end of December, it was a game we need to win and my feeling is that it was not from the heart.
“We must play with brains and also with heart, and [there was] not enough heart [today].
“There was not enough intensity, not enough desire so I think we played the game like one more game.

“I don’t think [this was] one more game, it’s a game we really need to win.
“There are matches that are special matches that are not just one more, and this was not just one more.
"They’re are people who will have a bad dinner [tonight], there is people will enjoy a nice dinner and there will be people who will maybe even party,” he noted.
The Red Devils are still seven points away from the top four but in their hunt for missed points will come up against Arsenal at Old Trafford and Liverpool away before the turn of the year.
Reacting about a possible solution to help Man United return to winning ways, Mourinho insists he will not go after squad members, who have not shown enough ambition to excel.
“You cannot change players’ nature dramatically.
“The solution is probably I have to make certain choices based on heart and then probably I will blame myself because I will think heart is not enough and I am missing some quality.

“Palace deserve some credit but I think we have to blame ourselves,” the Portuguese submitted.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Manchester United and Crystal Palace played a 0-0 draw on Saturday, November 23, in a rough Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The encounter saw both side missing scoring changes but none was able to count. Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku had a late effort ruled out for offside as United thought they had taken the lead, but that was the closest they came to score on the day.
The two teams had goals disallowed during the tough encounter which saw Palace leave Old Trafford with their first ever Premier League point.
