A lawyer based in Abuja has asked the Federal High Court in Kano to stop the Kano state House of Assembly from continuing its investigations into the bribery allegations levelled against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Abubakar Sani in a suit marked FHC/KN/CS/167/2018 said the Kano state House of Assembly lacked the power to carry out such investigations on the governor.

Punch reports that Sani also urged the court to rule that the Code of Conduct Bureau is the only institution constitutionally competent to carry out such investigation against a governor.
