Chelsea facing 2-year transfer ban for signing 14 players illegally

- Chelsea are facing a two-year ban from FIFA for the signing of 14 youth players illegally

- FIFA are said to have been investigating this matter since 2010 when they signed Traore

- The Burkina Faso football star is no longer with the Blues as he currently plays for Lyon in France

Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly facing a two-year transfer ban from the world football governing body for the signing of 14 youth players illegally.

According to the report on the times UK, Chelsea are facing the wrath of FIFA for signing these players via the back doors before they turned 18.

And one of these players is 23-year-old Bertrand Traore who currently plays for French club Lyon.

In August 2010, it was reported that Burkina Faso star Traore rejected a move to Manchester United before he joined the Stamford Bridge club.

And it was since then that FIFA are said to have started their investigation on Chelsea on the illegal signing of young players.

Meanwhile, Chelsea who are currently occupying third position on the Premier League standings are yet to respond to the latest development.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud who is yet to register a Premier League goal this term sealed a deal to make his debut in Hollywood.

The Russia 2018 World Cup winner has featured in nine English topflight matches this term and has only created four assists in those meetings.

He has however recorded a goal in three Europa League appearances for the Blues so far this term.
