The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has threatened to institute a legal action against anyone or media who continue to make unsubstantiated allegations that he took bribes to influence the party’s primaries.
Oshiomhole who issued the threat on Thursday, November 15, in a statement by his chief press secretary, Simon Ebegbulem, described the primaries conducted by the ruling party in several parts of the country as transparent, Premium Times reports.
The chairman stated that he has had enough of the unsubstantiated allegations against him, noting that no one should be allowed to get away with such actions which he said are capable of tarnishing his image.

“The National Chairman views the current attempts to tarnish his image as uncalled for and has vowed that he will seek legal redress against anybody or media, whether the traditional or in the social media, who makes such unsubstantiated allegations, henceforth.
“The primary elections of the APC, which were at the root of these malicious attacks, have come and gone, but it is understandable that those who lost out in the transparent exercise conducted by the party under the leadership of Comrade Oshiomhole, have been exercising their rights to protest,” the statement shared on the party’s WhatsApp platform read.
The APC accused leaders of the PDP of dishing out lies against Oshiomhole with a view to distracting the leadership of the APC ahead the 2019 general election.

The party however noted that the plot by the opposition has failed because the national chairman and APC leaders are focused and will never be distracted.
The ruling party warned that anybody who continues to make unsubstantiated allegations against Oshiomhole should be ready to provide proofs of such claims in a court of law.
Meanwhile, Senate President Bukola Saraki on Wednesday, November 14, declared that Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, must be joking for demanding him to quit his job.
Nigerian Tribune reports that Saraki made this known at the Islamic prayers for his late father’s sixth remembrance anniversary said that Oshiomhole has no locus reputation to have a say about morality in Nigeria’s current politics.
