A civil society organisation has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate allegations of certificate forgery against his special adviser on Prosecution Okoi Obono-Obla.
The Initiative for Integrity and Good Leadership (IIGL) urged the president not ignore calls by Nigerians to him to set up an Investigative panel to look into allegations against Obono-Obla.
The group said it was worried by the deafening silence of the president on the matter despite calls from different stakeholders that Obono-Obla who is also the chairman of Presidential Panel on Recovery of Government Property should resign his appointment.

Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja on Sunday, October 14, the national president of IIGL, Muhammadu Aliyu, said the continuous presence of Obono-Obla in President Buhari's cabinet would erode the integrity of the administration known for probity and war against corruption.
Aliyu said the Executive Order 6 with which the presidency banned 50 high profile Nigerians from travelling abroad shows that the government is not relenting on its war against corruption.
He however said that Nigerians would only take such war serious when people like Obono-Obla who is within the cabinet is not shielded but investigated and sanctioned accordingly if found guilty.
"We urge President Muhammadu Buhari not to ignore calls by Nigerians to probe his special aide on prosecution.

His recent Executive Order 6 has shown that the President meant business with his war against corruption, but such war would be seen as to be one sided if Obono-Obla is still in the government with such indictment and not investigated and sanctioned if found guilty," Aliyu said.
He added that the 30 days ultimatum issued by the group on a planned mass action against to continued stay of Obono-Obla as a presidential aide is counting.
Aliyu said the presidential aide has less than 15 days within which to toe the path of honour by tendering his resignation letter.
He also commended former the past minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, who according to him, bowed out after her certificate scandal.
"Yes, Adeosun deserves commendation because in this country, not many people can do what she did," he said.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that IIGL had on Wednesday, October 3, asked Obono-Obla to resign his appointment within 30 days or face mass action.
IIGL said it will begin a mass action in 30 days if Obono-Obla does not resign.
The group noted that the continuous presence of the pPresidential aide in the cabinet would erode the integrity of the administration known for probity and war against corruption.
