“I have received your letter offering your resignation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I accept your resignation with immediate effect.

“On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I thank you for your past services to the nation,” the president said as reported by This Day.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Alhassan, also known as Mama Taraba, who earlier resigned from President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet and from the ruling All Progressives Congress gave reasons for her actions.

Alhassan hinged her resignation on her disqualification in the screening for the 2019 Taraba state governorship contest by the APC National Working Committee.

Aisha Alhassan was the governorship candidate of the APC in the 2015 election in Taraba state.
