One Sharif Audu, 18, a suspected motorcycle thief, has admitted to stealing a Bajaj motorcycle in order to raise money for his girlfriend’s upkeep.
According to Punch, quoting Northern City News, a team of police detectives from the Niger state Police Command apprehended the suspect after he dispossessed one Yakubu Ndanusa of his motorcycle.

NAIJ.com gathers that Audu, who is said to be jobless, was always seen loitering around Honey Bell Hotel in Minna.
While confessing to the crime, the suspect said he stole the motorcycle to raise money to “maintain his girlfriend.”
He said: “The desire to satisfy the needs of my girlfriend made me steal the motorcycle. I don’t want to say no to her and that is why I can do anything to make her happy, no matter what.
“I don’t want to share her with anybody and that is why I will go the extra mile to fulfill her needs. I don’t care what it may result to, my duty is to provide what she needs before any other thing, I love her so much.”
The police public relations officer, Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed that the stolen motorcycle was recovered from the suspect.
He said the matter would be taken to court upon conclusion of the investigation.

In a similar development, NAIJ.com previously reported that two Imo state Polytechnic students, 26-year-old Johnson Ashiegbu and 34-year-old, Chinonso Ewurum, were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for allegedly stealing two vehicles.
The suspects were reported to have sold the vehicle to one Nnamdi Ejinkeonye for N300,000 in Onitsha.
One of the suspects disclosed that he used the money to sort out some school results and the rest to take care of his girlfriend.
