Premier League side Liverpool are closing in on Cagliari defender Nicolo Barella and are hot favourite to sign the Italy international.
According to Football Italia, The Reds are leading the pack of clubs jostling for Barella's signature which could cost them around £44million.
The 21-year-old has had a remarkable season so far in the Italian Serie A and it is expected his market value would rise in the coming months.

Bareella made his second appearance for the Azzuri in their 1-1 draw to Ukraine during the international break.
The midfielder has also made nine appearances in all competitions for Cagliari this season and found the back of the net in the club's 1-0 over Atlanta.
