- He added that he has no fraud case at the moment neither is any anti-graft agency investigating him
The former governor of Sokoto state, Attahiru Bafarawa has called on the Muhammadu Buhari's administration to remove his name from the travel ban list because he has been discharged and acquitted by a High Court on the case in which he was involved.
Bafarawa, who spoke during an interview on Sunday, October 14, said he is not standing any trial on corruption and he is not under any investigation, The Nation reports.
Bafarawa and some other people were travel ban list which was part of the Executive Order 6 (EO6) issued on Saturday, October 13, by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said: “In respect of the case listed against me in the Executive Order 6, I have been discharged and acquitted since July 31st 2018 by a court. I stood trial for almost 10 years. I was not found wanting by the court.
“I also need to put on record that my accounts have not been frozen by any of the anti-graft agencies.
"None of my properties has been confiscated till date. I have tried to live above board in public service and in my private life.”

In a related news, NAIJ.com earlier reported that the presidency has justified an executive order by Muhammadu Buhari which reportedly placed 50 Nigerians accused of corruption on a travel ban.
The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement on Sunday, October 14, said that the order was legal and constitutional.
He said the measure was revolutionary as it would lead to quick determination of corruption cases in the country.
