President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, August 31, received the vising German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the German leader, who is concluding her tour of three West African countries, arrived Aso Rock at about 10am.

The report added that President Buhari welcomed the German chancellor at the fore court of the Presidential Villa.
The Nigerian leader introduced some members of his cabinet and presidential aides to his visitor before they went into closed door meeting to deliberate on issues of mutual interest to both Nigeria and Germany.
Merkel is said to be on her final leg of a three-day trip to Senegal, Ghana and Nigeria with a focus on strengthening economic development and containing illegal migration.

It was learnt that the German leader, is accompanied by an economic team delegation.
The Nigerian presidency also confirmed the visit by Merkel.
NAIJ.com earlier reported how the British prime minister, Theresa May, arrived at the State House to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja recently.
President Buhari cancelled the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) to welcome May, who also visited Lagos and met with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
