- PDP senators Hunkuyi and La'ah have announced a tag-team against El Rufai in the 2019 governorship election in Kaduna
- Hunkuyi says he will contest for El-Rufai's seat while Senator La'ah will mobilize support for him from his own constituency
- Hunkuyi also promises to return to their former positions all those traditional leaders who were allegedly unjustly removed by Governor El Rufai earlier this year
Two former All Progressives Congress (APC) senators who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna have vowed to sack state governor Nasir el-Rufai from office in the 2019 governorship election.
The Guardian reports that Senators Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna North) and Danjuma La’ah (Kaduna South) have joined forces to unseat the governor at the polls.

In the joint move, Hunkuyi is contesting for El Rufai’s position on PDP’s platform while La’ah is mobilising voters in his senatorial district for his colleague to drive out el-Rufai.
Hunkuyi vowed to correct the injustice done to all the traditional leaders sacked by Governor El-Rufai earlier this year, by reinstating them to their positions within one week, if elected.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported recently that Kaduna state executive council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has joined the league of states to adopt the indirect primaries for selecting the candidate to represent the party in the 2019 general election.

The party made the announcement at the end of an emergency meeting of the state executive council at the party secretariat in Kaduna.
Emmanuel Jakada, the state chairman of the party, said it decided to adopt the indirect primaries because it could not access the list of genuine party men and women from the national secretariat of the party.
