Shehu Sani reveals how he turned down group's request to buy his nomination form

Senator Shehu Sani on Monday, September 10, said he turned down the request of a group of youths to purchase his Senate nomination and expression-of-interest forms.

Sani said he turned down the offer because he didn't want to be in the league of that deceptive political tradition.

The senator representing Kaduna Central, in a tweet said a group of youth had approached him requesting him to announce the purchase of his nomination form but declined the request.

The group said: “A group of youth struggling for daily bread approached me that I should permit them to announce that they bought a nomination form for me,as part of the political tradition, I politely declined. I don’t want to be in the league of that deceptive political tradition. They agreed”.

Meanwhile Sani alleged in another tweet that he refused to shed tears while submitting his nomination form against the advice of his political friend.

Recall that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar wept over the challenges bedeviling the county as various groups bought and presented to him the expression of interest and nomination forms to contest presidency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.

Sani in a tweet said: ”A politician and a friend gave me a pepper and a Handkerchief to rub on my face so as to shed tears ‘on the plight of the masses’’when I’m collecting and submitting my nomination form.

“I politely turned him down.I told him that I’m an activist and not an actor”.
