Osun 2018: Why I am backing Oyetola to succeed Aregbesola - Tinubu

- The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says he's supporting Gboyega Oyetola for Osun state gubernatorial election because he's the best man for the job

- He calls for support for the party's candidate, saying Oyetola is the candidate to beat in the race

- The people of Osun state will be electing their next governor on September 22, 2018

The All Progressives Congress national Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Sunday, September 9, called for support for the party’s candidate in the September 22 governorship election in Osun state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu said in Lagos that Oyetola was the best man for the job and the one to beat in the race.

NAIJ.com gathers that he said he was backing the renowned insurance guru and corporate player to help replicate the economic and infrastructure development witnessed in Lagos state in Osun.

He said in a statement by his media officer, Tunde Rahman: “With the impeccable credentials, competence and the sterling performance of the outgoing Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the APC flag bearer is the best man for the job and the one to beat in the race."

Tinubu described Oyetola as a technocrat, shrewd manager and administrator, recalling how he single-handedly founded and raised his own insurance company to a place of enviable status.

He said: “Ogbeni Aregbesola has laid the infrastructural foundation for the state; Oyetola with his experience and expertise in the corporate world will take Osun to the next level by raising its economic and investment profile."

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that ahead of the September 22 governorship election in Osun state, Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola emerged as the flag bearer for All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oyetola emerged winner of the party’s first-ever direct primary by polling 127, 017 votes to beat Yusuff Lasun, who recorded 21, 975 votes.
