A Nigerian man is currently trending on social media after narrating how his father was wrongfully sacked for exposing corruption in Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. According to the story, he was first suspended before getting sacked by the rector of the school.
Despite being sacked, the young man alleged that his father was still being victimized by the rector and had even been locked up in jail for three weeks. However, he finally got justice after 5 years of fighting the case.
Thanking the presidency for helping his father seek justice, the young man narrated the story: "How It Started! My dad got suspended on the 7th of October 2013 for exposing corruption in Yabatech under the leadership of Dr Kudirat Ladipo and the chairmanship of Chief Ebenezer BabaTope

My dad's suspension was meant to last for three months but on the day his suspension lapsed it was further extended indefinitely, my dad then decided to head to the national industrial court to seek justice. On the day the court nullified his suspension was the same day my dad got sacked. It was a real blow for us, my dad wrote a petition to President @MBuhari which led to series of investigations.
To further victimise my dad, the former rector planned an assassination attempt on my dad, I remember vividly on the 26th of September of 2015 policemen came all the way from Lagos State to our residence in ibadan to arrest my dad stating that the court ordered his arrest. Meanwhile the policemen did not come with their vehicle instead they brought a vehicle belonging to the Yabatech management and removed the plate numbers, they also came in mufti but my dad was able to recognize two of the officers because he has been interrogated by them before

In a case involving my dad and the ex-rector on allegations that he wants to kill her with no verifiable evidence, when the policemen were confronted to produce the arrest warrant they said they forgot it in Lagos , luckily for us a lot of people were nearby, so they helped us. resist the arrest, the policemen had no choice but to leave, during the period of the resistance my dad already made a phone call to the then ACP of the lagos state police command who then told the officers to report to his office immediately they got to Lagos. My dad escaped.
But would I say we were not lucky enough to escape the next persecution coming, my dad was remanded in prison alongside one of the accountants in ikoyi prison. I travelled to Lagos with my mom to visit my dad at ikoyi prison, I couldn't hold back the tears

Why should people be punished for doing the right thing! My dad and his counterpart spent about three weeks in prison before they got released after perfecting the bail conditions, thanks to one of their colleagues who also got sacked. Unfortunately for us we lost him few days. after my dad and his colleague got released from prison.... Fast forward to April 2018. President @MBuhari appointed a new governing board headed by Barrister Lateef Fagbemi SAN, he met with my dad months after his arrival, the first meeting was deadlocked.
And since a better offer was not to tabled we decided to wait for the court judgement of which my dad challenged his wrongful sack which was coming up in few months time. As God will have it again, we won the case again on the 7th of June 2018. The School believed the Judgement and planned on appealing the case, I felt really outraged and decided to run a social media campaign which ignited the #RecallIbirogba and #Yabatech8 hashtag. Thanks to Everyone who lent a voice on this issue it caught the attention of the Government and directives were given to settle the case out of court. I would like to specifically thank all my social media influencer friends who rallied to support my family, @BabajideFadoju @IfeAdebayo @segalink God bless you for the support and actions you put in this case.
The six other chartered accountants will resume work very soon as all they have left is for their papers to be signed. I can't say it all here."
