Just in: PDP dissolves Kano state exco

- Kano state executive committee has been dissolved

- A caretaker committee has been constituted to pilot the affairs of the state chapter of the party

- All members of the party in Kano state and across the nation were urged to be guided accordingly

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dissolved the Kano state executive committee of the party.

A statement signed by the party’s national publicitysecretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Friday, August 30, in Abuja said that the dissolution took effect immediately.

The statement said that the decision was taken at the NWC meeting of the party on Thursday.

“Consequently, a caretaker committee has been constituted to pilot the affairs of the state chapter of the party.

“Details of the caretaker committee will be made public in due course.

“All members of the party in Kano state and across the nation should be guided accordingly,” it said.

NAIJ.com had earlier reported that aggrieved members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state, have urged a Lagos state high court sitting in Igbosere to nullify the party's congress conducted in 2017.

The nine aggrieved members stated that the congress does not conform to the party's constitution.

NAIJ.com gathered that the members include Ishola Isiaka Shodiya, Ismaila Abiodun Abiola, Kehinde Adelani, Kazeem Adeyemi, Awoyemi Abayomi, Adegboyega Adegbesan, Olalekan Bello, Florence Akojenu and Wasiu Aderounmu.
