Italian League giants AS Roma are reportedly planning to beat Barcelona to the signing of Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi.
Both clubs were at loggerheads over the recent movement of Brazil forward Malcolm who joined the Catalan club during summer transfer window.
However, the Serie A outfit are trying to avoid a repeat of the scenario where they lose they player they've agreed to sign to the Spanish League giants.

According to the Sun, the La Liga champions joined the chase for the for the Italian striker, who is also said to be wanted by Everton and Inter Milan in the past.
Catalan outlet Sport report that the Camp Nou outfit are showing more interest the 24-year-old whose only cap so far for his national team came in a 3-1 friendly loss against France in June.
SunSport revealed that Roma have been big admirers of Berardi for at least two seasons, and will be careful to avoid another untidy deal that saw Malcom choose Barca over them in a £36.5 million deal.

Berardi made his senior debut for his present club in 2012 after joining them from Cosenza and has scored about 60 goals in over 180 appearances in all competitions.
The striker isn't scoring as much as he used to in the last three campaigns, but his ability to also play as a winger makes him an attractive to top European clubs.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Barcelona completed the signing of Brazil midfielder Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira in a five year deal.
The Blaugrana beat Italian Seire A side AS Roma to the signing of the 21-year-old in a deal valued around £36.5 million with £900,000 in variables.
According to BBC, the Champions League semifinalists revealed earlier this week that they had reached an agreement with Bordeaux for the player but subject to a medical and personal terms.
