Just in: Osun governorship election tops agenda as Tinubu leads south west APC stakeholders to Buhari

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, led the party’s stakeholders from the south west to a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in the evening of Thursday, August 30.

Punch reports that the meeting was held inside the first lady’s conference hall inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja and it started at about 8.30 pm with the September 22, governorship election in Osun state top on the agenda of the meeting.

The report added that vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, and the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, also attended the meeting.

Those at the meeting also include Rauf Aregbesola of Osun; Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo; Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo.

The governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Gandoje, who is the chairman of the Osun State governorship campaign committee also attended.

The meeting was still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, August 30, adopted the direct primary method for the selection of its presidential candidate, while states would be allowed to choose which of the methods best suits their peculiarities.

The party, however, said that states willing to use the direct primary method should write officially to the national secretariat.
