- He urged the party to pick someone who has the capacity or ability to get things done, as its presidential candidate for 2019

Ibrahim Dankwambo, the executive governor of Gombe state and presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says the party knows how to lead the country because it has tasted power before.

NAIJ.com gathers that the meeting was also attended by Senator Dino Melaye and former Benue governor, Gabriel Suswam.

Dankwambo also urged the opposition party to present a presidential candidate who would be presentable to all.

He said: “We are taking decisions about the place of our people. We are going to take decisions about the future of the people.

“For a party like PDP that has tasted power between 1999 and 2015. We have trained a lot of leaders, and we are training a lot of leaders, and we know how to lead. So from our party, there will be a lot for people that will desire (to run for president).

“We should be able not to take those kind of decisions that we used to take; we must present a candidate that is presentable across board.”

He continued: “We should work with somebody that has done it before, somebody doing it now or has capacity of doing it better.

“For somebody to stand up and say there is insurgency and if you elect me, in two months I will finish insurgency. How? If you elect me dollar is equal to one naira. How? I will eradicate hunger. How? Because when you were there, there was hunger. You want to eradicate hunger again?

“There should be someone who has the capacity or has the ability.”
