Tahav Agerzua, Ortom's special adviser on media and ICT noted that the governor is yet to declare to anyone that he is defecting.

According to the governor, he does not need to seek their permission before joining the PDP and he has not announced to anyone that he's going into PDP. Ortom said he would address the issue when the time comes.

Meanwhile, elders from Masev, Ihyarev and Nongov Development Association, known as MINDA, a geopolitical zone in the state came out from a meeting on Sunday, July 22, and called on Ortom to seek an alternative platform for his reelection bid.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com, thirteen governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 2019 elections in Benue state on Monday, July 23, kicked against the imminent return of Governor Samuel Ortom to the party.
