Barcelona considering offer for Liverpool’s goalkeeper as Jasper Cillessen's replacement

- Barcelona are preparing to table a deal for Liverpool's shot-stopper Simon Mignolet

- The Nou Camp giants want the out-of-favour Belgian as a replacement for Jasper Cillessen

- Mignolet is unlikely to play for the Kop side following Alisson's world record move to Anfield

Spanish champions Barcelona are preparing to table a deal for Liverpool's shot-stopper Simon Mignolet as backup for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, report coming out of Spain suggests.

According to a UK Sun report citing Spain’s news channel Marca Barcelona are ready to offer the out-of-favour Belgian an escape route from Anfield as well as a replacement for Holland’s Jasper Cillessen.

Following the arrival of former Roma shot-stopper Alisson to Anfield in a £68million world record switch Mignolet is unlikely to represent the Kop side again.

On the other hand, Germany’s Loris Karius is equally rated slightly above Mignolet in Reds pecking order despite his schoolboy errors, including two in the UEFA Champions League final in May.

Mignolet is expected to play second fiddle at the Nou Camp behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen who is currently the No. 1 choice at Barcelona.

However, Barca eggheads see the Belgian as a quality understudy to the German goalkeeper as Cillessen is linked with a move away from the La Liga champions this summer.

The former Ajax shot-stopper is unhappy over lack of regular matches after two appearances in the Spanish topflight last campaign.

The report further added that that the Belgian currently tops Barcelona's potential list of back-up shot-stoppers that include the duo of Wolfsburg's Koen Casteels and Borussia Monchengladbach's Yann Sommer.

Interestingly, if the deal sees the light of the day, Liverpool's goalkeeping revolution will rightly be on course.

Aside from landing Alisson, the Reds have also offloaded Danny Ward in a £12.5m deal to Premier League rivals Leicester City.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Barcelona have made an increase in their previous bid for Chelsea midfielder Willian to £55m.

According to UK Daily Star report citing sources at Sky Sports News, the Nou Camp dwellers are eager to prize the highly-talented midfielder who has been at Chelsea since 2013.

Stamford Bridge eggheads had snubbed two initial bids of £50m and £53m for the Brazilian. After being rejected twice, the report suggests the La Liga champions have now raised their offer to £55m.
