Any love that doesn’t involve giving is fake - Popular pastor restarts tithe, offering controversy (video)

- Pastor Ibiyeomie of Port Harcourt-based Salvation Ministries Church restarted the controversial topic that months ago on social media in a recent sermon

- The Christian cleric says to show you love them, you have to give just as one gives tithes and offerings in church

- He says even God gave His only son, Jesus Christ, in order to show his love for the world

Popular Port-Harcourt-based Christian cleric Pastor David Ibiyeomie has re-started the controversy of the Tithe and offering giving in churches during a recent sermon.

The general overseer and founder of Salvation Ministries Church stated that love without giving is fake.

According to reports, Pastor Ibiyeomie made the declaration in a recent sermon he delivered.

In the video of the sermon seen by NAIJ.com, the cleric said the first way to prove that your love to someone is by giving them things.

He said: “Any love that does not involve giving is fake. If anybody ever told you ‘I love you’ and cannot give you something, cancel that love, it is not genuine love. The first way to prove love is giving.”

He based his declaration on the popular Bible verse John 3:16 which narrated how God so loved the world that he gave up his only begotten son to save the world from sin.

Laying emphasis on the ‘gave’, Pastor Ibiyeomie says one is expected to give if one truly loves in order to imitate God.
