Super Eagles star dumps Man City to sign for top European club

- Olarenwaju Kayode has secured a permanent deal with Shakhtar Donetsk

- The 25-year-old joined Manchester City from Austria Wien in the summer of 2017

- He spent last season on loan at Girona and Shakhtar Donetsk before making his deal with the Ukrainian side permanent

Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode has signed a permanent five deal deal with Ukrainian giant, Shakhtar Donetsk.

The former U-20 international made a January loan move to the Ukranian giants after enduring difficult times with Girona in La Liga

Kayode's contract with Manchester City ended this season after having short spells in Spain and the Eastern European nation within a year.

He initially proposed move to French outfit, Amiens in the January transfer window but it did not materialize.

The former Austria Wien attacker has now made his deal permanent after an impressive six months at the RSC Olimpiyskiy outfit.

The 25-year-old who was not selected in Gernot Rohr's 30-man provisional squad for the World Cup will have something to smile about.

Kayode made his senior debut when Nigeria played a 1-1 draw against Senegal in one of the early matches of Rohr's campaign in March, 2017.

NAIJ.com previously reported that Nigerian international Kayode Olanrewaju has joined Premier League campaigners Manchester City ahead of City's first Premier League game of the season.

There are various reports quoting source closed to the Super Eagles striker confirming that the former Kwara United attacker has passed his medical examination at the Etihad Stadium.

But Manchester City have not made any public announcement on the reported capture of the striker who was said to be on his way to Premier League returnees Newcastle United.
