The chief of staff to the Osun state governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, after speculations has finally declared his gubernatorial aspiration to succeed Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the leader of the state.
Oyetola made the declaration in a very colourful ceremony full of glamour and royalty which later culminated into a well-attended press conference to unveil his manifesto and workable blueprints if elected governor.
The APC chieftain who made a physical appearance at the APC party secretariat in Osogbo submitted his letter of intention to the state executive executive council, eulogized them for their unflinching support to the administration of the incumbent governor, Rauf Aregbesola while promising to build on the good legacies instituted thus far.

He promised to revolutionize the economic base of the state for improved IGR for the prosperity of all Osun sons and daughters by creating the enabling environment for manufacturing companies and agro-allied industries to invest in the agriculture, mining and tourism sectors to create job opportunities for the employable youths.
His words: “Our vision is premised on continuity and consolidation, we shall build on all the successes of Aregbesola, like we can see, the Osun of today was not the Osun we met in 2010, we have modernized our state, we touched all sectors of our national life, indeed this is the touch and beauty of good governance.
“We are not where we planned to be but we have move forward from where we used to be. We shall fine tune objectively the six point integral action plan contained in the green book upon which Aregbesola triumphed, we shall make our government work for all irrespective of status; our priorities shall be to ensure we have a well-motivated civil service to ensure maximum productivity to implement all our laudable policies and programmes in education, health, agriculture, housing, sports, environment etc, he responded while fielding questions from a cross section of journalists at his campaign headquarters.”
Earlier in the day, thousands of his supporters drawn from all the thirty (30) local governments and area office of the state had stormed the party secretariat in celebration mood.
Oyetola had started his gubernatorial campaign from the palace of the Arigbiji of Iragbiji, Oba AbdulRasheed Olabomi where he had received royal blessings before proceeding to Osogbo.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the APC in Osun state, Honourable Akindiya Amos who is from Olaoluwa local government area of Osun West Senatorial District has condemned the agitation by some individuals from his senatorial district insisting that they must produce the next governor of the state.
Akindiya, a serving commissioner in the Osun state House of Assembly Service Commission, said the argument does not hold water as power rotation is alien to the APC constitution.
He made this assertion while fielding questions from journalists on the preparation of the APC ahead of the September 22 gubernatorial election coming up this year.
