Prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka who is the deputy governor of Ekiti state has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the state’s gubernatorial election.
Eleka won the party’s primary election on Tuesday, May 8.
Eleka who was anointed by Governor Ayodele Fayose had 1,191 of the votes to defeat his rival, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye who had 770 votes.
Naij.com had reported that Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, the deputy governor of Ekiti state, stated that he is proud to be Governor Ayodele Fayose’s anointed candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial poll.

According to Tribune, he made his comment on Friday, April 13, after submitting his nomination form.
NAIJ.com gathers that Eleka stated that his personal conviction to better the lot of the Ekiti people was what informed his decision to stand for election. He disclosed that he would achieve his goal by consolidating on the achievements of the Fayose administration.
The deputy governor further stated that he did not see anything wrong with being supported by Fayose; noting that the governor has a right to support whoever he likes.
