Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state, on Friday, April 6, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a father to governors of all 36 states in Nigeria.
Emmanuel, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this statement during the closing ceremony of the third edition of the Nigerian Air Force combat sports competition.

The opposition party, PDP, often make controversial statements against the president so Emmanuel's praise for the president is a contrast to what the party is know for.
He said: “I must thank the Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, our own President Muhammadu Buhari for being such a good general to all of us (the governors), including myself.
“I am not afraid to say this anytime anywhere, he is a father to all of us. I really want to thank him."
Premium Times reports that Emmanuel in December 2017 stopped short of sacking his media aide, Essien Ndueso, for accusing the president of according more care to his cows than ordinary Nigerians. The governor disowned the aide and forced him to apologise to Mr Buhari.

At the air force event, Mr Emmanuel said President Buhari has taken the Nigerian Air Force and other armed forces to a new height, by providing the needed resources to them.
Recall that NAIJ.com earlier reported that Governor Emmanuel in 2017 declared himself oracle of God.
Emmanuel said this during a state-sponsored religious ceremony – the Annual Akwa Ibom State Solemn Assembly – an event meant to usher in peace and unity in the state for the New Year.
Also in attendance was the immediate past governor of the state, Godswill Akpabio, the president, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Olasupo Ayokunle, and several other Christian leaders in the ceremony which took place at the Ibom Hall grounds, IBB Avenue, Uyo when the governor said this.
