Arsenal make it 6 wins out of 6 as they defeat Southampton in Premier League clash

- Premier League side Arsenal defeated Southampton 3 - 2 in their Premier League matchday 33 clash at the Emirates stadium

- Southampton got the opener in the clash but the Gunner fought back early to claim a 2 - 1 lead at halftime

- Jack Stephens and Mohamed Elneny saw red cards respectively in the late minutes of the clash

Premier League side Arsenal defeated Southampton 3 - 2 in their Premier League matchday 33 clash at the Emirates stadium.

The Gunners head into the clash the favourite as they have managed to win all five all their last five games in all competition, while Southampton are who are currently 18th in the Premier League log table are battling for safety in the League.

And to the surprise of the home fans it was the visitors that drew first blood in the 17th minute as Cedric Soares displayed great vision and sent a pass to Shane Long, who showed brilliant composure inside the box to bury the ball from close range in the back of the net, making the scoreline 0 - 1.

As expected, Arsenal did not take long to respond as Danny Welbeck puts the ball on a plate for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 29th minute, who scored with a simple close-range finish to make the scoreline 1 - 1.

And Arsenal took the lead in the 38th minute as Alex Iwobi passed the ball to Danny Welbeck and he fired in a shot from the edge of the box which is deflected, Alex McCarthy could not do anything about it as the scoreline reflected 2 - 1.

And at the end of the first 45 minutes it was the Gunners that walked into the tunnel with a 2 - 1 lead.

Arsenal came real close to adding to their lead but the defence of Southampton remained resolute to make sure the scoreline does not become embarrassing.

And the shocker, came in the 74th minute as Southampton leveled the scoreline. Cedric Soares put the ball across the area and Charlie Austin has the easiest task in the world to tuck the ball into an empty net to make the scoreline 2 - 2.

But the party did not last long for Southampton as Danny Welbeck (Arsenal) made it 3 - 2 in the 81st minute. He jumped highest to connect with a perfect cross from Alex Iwobi and planted his close-range header into the bottom left corner.

Jack Stephens and Mohamed Elneny saw red cards respectively in the late minutes of the clash.

In other Premier League matchday 33 clash Manchester United defeated rivals Man City 2 - 3 at the Etihad, Liverpool played a goalless draw with Everton.
