- Katsina state pilgrims who intend to participate in the 2018 Hajj pilgrimage have been advised to behave themselves in the Holy land in Saudi Arabia
- Aliyu Tanko of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), in a one-day retreat organised for the pilgrims said that they must be of their best behaviour because the host country has no tolerance for crimes
- Abu Rimi, the executive director of the state pilgrims board said that the retreat was set up so as to sensitise pilgrims on the new rules established by Saudi
Pilgrims from Katsina state intending for take part in the coming Hajj have been cautioned to put up civil behaviours while in the Holy land as Saudi authorities do not tolerate crimes.
Aliyu Tanko of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), in his speech during a one-day retreat for the pilgrims, said there are many people languishing in prisons for unknowingly breaking the law and ended up in police custody, Daily Trust reports.

Tanko stated that in 2017, a pilgrim was spotted picking an item on the floor of the Haram and was picked up by CCTV cameras and locked up. He said: "What was expected of you to do was to call or draw the attention of police and security officers on ground to it than to pick it up.
"Even the year before a similar incidence had happened and the pilgrim was jailed adding that do not pick up things knowingly or otherwise."

Tanko encouraged intending pilgrims to move in groups so that they can be easily spotted and located. He added that NAHCON is committed to ensuring a successful Hajj experience.
Abu Rimi, the executive director of the state pilgrims board, remarked that the retreat was brought about by the dynamics of Hajj exercise in view of new rules and regulation set up by the host country, Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that NAHCON had allocated a total 95,000 seats to the State Pilgrims Welfare Boards (SPWB), the armed forces and the private tour operators for the 2017 Hajj exercise.
This was an increase from the 76,000 overall seats that had been allocated to Nigeria in recent years.
