Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the Social Democratic Party, a once powerful political party in the military era of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, stated that it was set to uproot the APC and PDP from the seat of power in the 2019 general elections.

The party, under which platform the late MKO Abiola won the 1993 presidential election but was annulled by former military president Ibrahim Babangidda, came into limelight in 2015 after going into oblivion after the annulment of the 1993 election.

Delta state chairman of the party, Oke Idawene, said the SDP was poised to win power from the two main parties in the country, noting that there was re-positioning going on in the party, with an aim to winning the elective positions and bringing the party back to its pride of place.
