- Afenifere insists in restructuring of the country
- The group said it would only support Tinubu if he adopts calls for restructuring
- It said Tinubu has always remained a member of its family
The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has said that it would only lend its support to Chief Bola Tinubu if he “would adopt the call for restructuring as adopted by the body.”
Tinubu had paid a visit to the group raising suspicion that he wanted their support ahead of the 2019 election.

Vanguard reports that Yinka Odumakin who is the publicity secretary of Afenifere said Tinubu was not a stranger to the group and would always be welcomed.
He said: “It was a courtesy call, he (Tinubu) is not a stranger to Afenifere, Afenifere made him governor in 1999, so he is a member to the family. He moved at a time, and we hope that the visit will bring a better understanding in terms of the irreducible minimums of areas of cooperation in the interest of the Yoruba outside of party politics.
“So, even if there are disagreements, you must not hire small children to abuse your fathers.”
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 28, said Tinubu brought him “a beautiful piece of information” which he was not aware of before.
Punch reports that Buhari, however, did not disclose what piece of information it was but promised to discuss it in detail with the former Lagos state governor.
NAIJ.com gathered that Buhari said: “I also thank our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has brought me a very beautiful piece of information which I was not aware of it until I sat down and read it this evening (Tuesday night). Thank you very much for your hard work and I will discuss that paper with you."
