Onochie in a lengthy statement on Facebook on Wednesday, August 9, described those clamouring for Buhari to address the nation as ignorant of the provisions of the 1999 constitution.

The aide said some people in public service are private people in that they like to keep their personal lives out of the public domain while others place their personal lives in the public domain for all to see, noting that its an individual choice.

She stated that President Buhari had adhered to the provisions of the constitution by transferring power to his vice to become acting president, noting that it was wrong to compare the Buhari situation with that of late President Yar'Adua.

She said in Yar'Adua’s case the National Assembly was not informed nor were Nigerians informed that he was going on a medical leave.
