BREAKING: Young man kept in chains for 1 year rescued by Lagos police (photos)

- The Nigeria Police has rescued a young man kept in chains for more than one year

- The man was allegedly chained by his 85-year old grandmother

- He was said to be mentally ill

The Nigeria police on Wednesday, August 8, rescued a young man allegedly chained for more that one year in Lagos.

Channels Television reports that the yet to be identified man was said to have been kept under lock by his 85-year old grandmother.

NAIJ.com gathered that the young man was claimed to have been mentally ill.

However, the area commander for the Area D police station condemned the action.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that recovered a ritualists den along the busy Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

A video capturing the recovering showed crowd gathered while the police tried to shoot some of the alleged ritualists hiding in the den.
