Former Minister of Education under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration, Oby Ezekwesili, has attacked the Presidency over alleged police brutality on Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa aka Charly Boy during his protest in Abuja.

Recall that NAIJ.com reported that Charley Boy and others protesting that President Muhammadu Buhari should return home from London or resign from office were attacked by the Nigeria Police Force who tried to disperse them with tear gas.

Ezekwesili, while reacting to the unfortunate event said the presidency should focus more on disseminating adequate information about the president's health and not on stopping citizens from protesting.

In a series of tweets, the Bring Back Our Girls convener, said she is sure that no amount of police brutality would stop Charly Boy from returning the next day to continue the protest.

Meanwhile, the Senate has cautioned protesters operating under the aegis of Concerned Nigerians, demanding for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over his medical vacation in the United Kingdom to stop heating up the polity.

In a statement sent to NAIJ.com by the Senate's spokesman, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, he described the agitation of the protesters as an “unreasonable demand.”

The statement said the protesters were only creating unnecessary tension in the country and seeking to divert the attention of the presidency from the economic and security issues which are being tackled with vigour.
