APC chieftains ask Osinbajo to assign portfolios to new ministers in Buhari's absence

- A few members of the House of Representatives have called on Yemi Osinbajo, acting president to engage the just appointed ministers with assignments

- James Faleke, lawmaker from Lagos state said the ministers were appointed to occupy some vacancies in the government

- He said since Osinbajo has inaugurated them therefore they should be given portfolios

A few members of the House of Representatives have appealed to Yemi Osinbajo, acting president to assign, portfolios to sworn-in ministers that were just appointed.

James Faleke, lawmaker from Lagos state said the ministers were appointed on basis that there were vacancies in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Pulse reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that Faleke said the ministers should be engaged in doing what they were sworn in to do.

''Now that the ministers have been appointed and the acting president has inaugurated them, they should be given portfolios''.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lashed out at Osinbajo, saying he was not in charge of the government but a mere figurehead.

President Muhammadu Buhari duly handed over power to Osinbajo before he embarked on his UK trip for medical treatment but the PDP insists that Osinbajo was not in power and that the government was being run by a cabal.
