See how PDP senators plan to take revenge on APC after Ahmed Makarfi Supreme Court victory

- The chairman of the PDP senate caucus Godswill Akpabio stated that the Ahmed Makarfi victory was a victory for all faithful PDP members

- Akpabio referred to the crisis within the party as a family affair which had now been resolved with the court’s judgement

- The senator stated that majority of the party members were in support of the Makarfi faction; and called on all of them to come back as one united family

The 30 senators who make up the PDP caucus in the upper legislative chamber, have resolved to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power by 2019.

According to reports, their resolution follows the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

Speaking on the victory, Godswill Akpabio, Senate minority leader and chairman of the caucus said with the ruling, the coast had now been cleared to remove the APC from power come 2019.

The minority leader said the judgement was a victory for all loyal PDP members especially those who did not abandon the party through the tough times.

He said: “This is PDP caucus of the 8th Senate. We are meeting out of excitement over the victory accorded us by the Supreme Court.

“We said let Nigerians know the event that happened today and that the seemingly intractable crises has been resolved.

“We do know that about 99.9% PDP faithful are behind the Makarfi faction.”

According to Akpabio, the crisis was a family issue.

He stated: “What happened was a family issue and it is no victor, no vanquished. We are calling on all to come back for we are all one united family.”

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that the Supreme Court on Wednesday, July 12, removed Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reinstating Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic leader.

The five man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, in its judgment delivered, reinstated Makarfi who was earlier sacked by the Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal, as the National Caretaker Committee.
