EFCC arrests 2 men operating fake flight booking website (photos)

- Two members of a ganag operating a fake flight booking website have been arrested

- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested them in Ibadan, Oyo state

- Other members of the gang are currently at large and being hunted by law enforcement

For operating a fake travel portal, two young men have been arrested and arraigned in Ibadan, Oyo state by the EFCC.

Oseyomiwobor Marvelous and Stanley Oghenetejiri were brought before Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court, Oyo on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery and obtaining money under false pretenses.

The Ibadan Zonal Office of the EFCC arraigned them on July 5, 2017, after they were exposed following a petition received by the commission.

The defendants and others still at large were members of a syndicate who operate a website to defraud unsuspecting air travellers who preferred to make bookings online.

The case has been adjourned to October 19, 2017, for trial.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the acting chairman of the EFCC Ibrahim Magu will remain a nightmare to the Nigerian Senate.

Buhari said the EFCC chairman will continue to remain in office despite harassment and kicks by the legislature.

Representing the president at the commissioning of the EFCC zonal office in Kaduna state on Thursday, July 6, the Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai said Magu will continue to be EFCC chairman till the end of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
