Isha Sesay, CNN anchor of Sierra Leonian descent, has revealed how her mum’s life was saved by doctors at a Nigerian hospital, after she had taken seriously ill.
According to the anchor, her mum Dr. Kadi Sesay, was transferred to Nigeria after not being able to get adequate treatment in Sierra Leone.

Sesay’s mum was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Lagoon Hospitals, Apapa, Lagos for 3months before she was eventually discharged.
The nature of the ailment was not disclosed.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the executive director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Faisal Shuaib, disclosed that as a result of poor access to basic healthcare, Nigeria loses 3,000 children and women daily to preventable diseases.
According to Mr. Shuaib the country’s poor health system is also responsible for the death of some children in Nigeria before they reach the age of 5.
