BREAKING: Osinbajo departs Nigeria for AU summit in Ethopia

- Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is covering well for his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari

- Osinbajo has been up and about since the medical vacation of Buhari

- He leaves for Addis Ababa, Ethopia today, Monday, July 3 for an African Union (AU) Summit

Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo will depart the shores of Nigeria today, Monday, July 3 to attend an AU summit in Addis Ababa, Ethopia.

This was announced by the spokesman of the acting president, Mr Laolu Akande via his Twitter handle.

According to Akande, the acting president is expected to return to the country later today immediately after the summit.

Osinbajo is leaving for the summit two days after Nigeria assumed the chairmanship of the AU Peace and Security Council (PSC).

Osinbajo has been in constant touch with other African leaders since the absence of President Buhari

The PSC is the standing organ of the AU for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts.

Meanwhile, Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja to visit her ailing husband in London.

A statement issued by Suleiman Haruna, director of information to Mrs Buhari, stated that she jetted out on Sunday July 2.
