Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum who is the Speaker of the Kano state House of Assembly is expected to step aside over investigation in alleged corrupt practices.
Daily Trust reports that that the speaker may step aside today, Monday, July 3 over allegations against him.

A source claimed that Rurum has tendered a letter to the House of his intention to step aside in order for a transparent investigation to be carried out.
It was alleged that the Speaker received the sum of N100 million from Alhaji Aliko Dangote in order to stop the probe and removal of Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi.

It was reported that the House would deliberate on the letter tendered by the Speaker.
The new Speaker Yusuf Abdullahi Attah who was sworn in after the resignation promised to maintain a cordial relationship with the executive.
