A military coalition led by the United States of America against the Islamic State on Friday, June 16, said it could not confirm reports that Abubakar al-Baghdadi an IS leader was killed by Russia's military.
Reacting to reports that Russia's military may have killed the notorious IS leader, the coalition spokesperson John Dorrian, told Reuters that the US-led mission is yet to confirm the death of al-Baghdadi.
Dorrian, a colonel said: "We cannot confirm."
Recall that the Russian military had said it was yet to receive confirmation that al-Baghdadi was killed in a strike carried out on May 28 in Raqqa, Syria.

The statement also said that about 30 commanders and up to 300 personnel guards attached to these leader could also have been killed.

Russia's military however said the US was prepped about the place and time of the strike before it was carried out.
Also, CNN reports that the terrorists' leaders were discussing their exit from Raqqa through a southern corridor before the operation which was carried out following a drone footage confirmation of the meeting's location.
It was also gathered that Russian forces are in support of the Syrian government currently fighting against IS from the West.

However, the US-led coalition supports the Iraqi government fighting against the group from the East.

Before is alleged death, the terrorists' leader is said to have had a £20 million bounty on him as the world's most wanted terrorists.
