Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met at Governor Ayodele Fayose’s house to discuss ways to move the party forward.
The party in embroidered in leadership crisis that has threatened to weaken it.

The leadership tussle between Ali Modu Sherriff and Ahmed Makarfi has affected the party and even though the case is at the Supreme Court, the Makarfi-led faction is making move to salvage the party.

The meeting took place on Thursday, June 15 and although full details of the meeting has not been made public, it was revealed that the party was focused on being strong ahead of the 2019 election.

While the opposition party is facing its problem, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to woo PDP governors in order to expand ahead of 2019.

NAIJ.com reported that the ruling party is targeting to woo governors of the PDP in the South-east and South-south regions.
The APC performed woefully in the two zones in the 2015 general elections, losing most of the areas, except Imo state. Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is also not spared by the APC lobbyists.
The APC is reportedly dangling carrots of automatic re-election to some first term governors in the two zones with the exception of the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, who the APC see as a renegade.
