NAIJ.com came across a video of a man suspected to be the former president of Côte d'Ivoire, Laurent Gbagbo, being attacked on the streets of Paris.
Often times when people leave a position of power, they are celebrated by the people around them, especially when they meet them in 'unusual' places.
Well, this was not the case for Côte d'Ivoire's former president, Laurent Gbagbo, who is currently faced with corruption charges at the International Criminal Court in Hague.
A man who was suspected to be the former president, was attacked and beaten by some men who spotted him while walking on the streets of Paris.

As it turned out, it was a case of mistaken identity, as the man who was beaten and chased across the street was later seen to be an innocent man whose only crime was looking like the former president.
Former president Gbagbo is also facing charges of fraud, murder and persecution, following the unceremonious end of his administration in 2011.
