Who is ☛ the youngest professor in Nigeria!

Most of you were just ordinary kids with typical kid's life: playing with friends, doing something at home, eating and sleeping. However, some children were already deeply involved in academics and science facts that even their parents could not comprehend. The best of these children are named here!

By age 20 they can even begin their teaching career. Today you will see these brilliant young people becoming professors at a very young age. So, what is the age of the youngest professor in Nigeria? Using the data on the Internet we have compiled a list of the youngest PhD holders in Nigeria. This list is presented below:

The 5th place: Dr. Olabisi Adeyemi (Age of getting the scientific degree - 26).

This young scientist has chosen Botany as her area of research. She was born in Lagos State. The future researcher successfully graduated from Girls’ Academy. Just at that spot, she was recognized as the best student by the West African Examinations Council. Then she entered the University of Lagos in her native State.

Olabisi Adeyemi continued to maintain her secondary school achievements. While at the university, her academic success only became more developed. She graduated from there and was awarded a first class degree in the sphere of her research direction – Botany.

She has completed her Ph.D. dissertation in a very short period of time - 5 years after her graduation from the University. However, during an interview, Olabisi Adeyemi recognized that being a Ph.D holder as well as the best graduating Ph.D. student at her age was not an easy achievement. It came at a “heavy price”.

The 4th place: Dr. Opeyemi Shodipe (Age of getting the scientific degree - 25).

This Nigerian young scientist became a holder of a bachelor's degree at the age of 19. She graduated from Babcock University. After finishing the obligatory NYSC programme, she decided to enter the University of Ibadan for a master’s degree. She graduated from there being among the best.

Nevertheless, Opeyemi Shodipe chose Babcock University as the school where she would receive her doctorate degree in Information Science. To make a long story short, her Alma Mater was the place where this young woman, at the age of 25, received her scientific degree.

The 3rd place: Dr. Salihu Dasuki Nakande (Age of getting the scientific degree - 25).

He was born in October 1987 in Nigeria. however, he received most of his education abroad. He was admitted into the Eastern Mediterranean University, which is located in North Cyprus. Very quickly, he managed to graduate with a first class degree in Information Technologies.

In order to get A Master’s degree, he moved to the UK and finished AT Brunel University. At the same higher educational establishment Dr. Salihu got a Ph.D. in 2012. Without a twinge of conscience, it can be said that he is one of Nigeria’s youngest Ph.D. holders.

The 2nd place: Dr. Hallowed Olaoluwa (Age of getting the scientific degree - 24).

This researcher can be also referred to as the youngest professor in Nigeria because of his intellectual achievements. As a fifteen year-old-boy, he gained admission into the University of Bangui for his bachelor’s degree. This educational establishment is located in the Central African Republic.

At the same school, he managed to receive his master’s degree. The University of Lagos awarded him a Ph.D. in Mathematics. By the way, he was also the best student not only in mathematics but also in physics. He collected all the possible awards in the University in 2007 and 2008.

The 1st place: Dr. Nkemehule Karl Omebere-Iyari (Age of getting the scientific degree - 22).

This young man happens to be the youngest doctor in Nigeria, who is the leader of this current list. Nigerian Omebere-Iyari studied at the University of Nottingham, UK. He gained admission into the university and three years later, he graduated with a First Class Degree in Chemical Engineering. He was only 19!

Three years later (22-years-old), he received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the same University and won an EU grant to a total of €17,000. After graduation, he was employed in such international corporations as Shell, Halliburton, etc. Now he is famous not only in his native country but worldwide.
