Nigerians have been assured by the Federal Government that President Muhammadu Buhari is in competent hands in London, United Kingdom.

Daily Trust reports that this assurance was given by the minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which held on Wednesday, May 31 at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting was chaired by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Mohammed gave the assurance in response to questions from newsmen over the status of the Presidents’ health.

In his words: “The President is in competent hands and there is no cause for alarm.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has been in London since May 7, when he left Nigeria for further consultations with his UK doctors.

He handed over the responsibility of running the government to Osinbajo via a letter which was communicated to the National Assembly.

Recall that NAIJ.com had previously reported that government officials disclosed that regular updates of President Buhari’s medical trip to the United Kingdom will not be provided for Nigerians.

According to the officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, such updates were unnecessary since Buhari had handed over to his deputy Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who is now the Acting President.
