Sheriff deals Fayose dirty blow, urges him to quit PDP

- PDP national chairman Ali Modu Sheriff has told Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state to leave the party if he wants to

- Sheriff says Fayose’s exit would bring peace to the party

- He describes Fayose as the architect of crisis in PDP

Ali Modu Sheriff, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state of fuelling the crisis in the party.

According to Sheriff, Fayose is responsible for the crisis rocking the PDP and can leave if he wants to.

Sheriff made this known while addressing journalists after a visiting the party secretariat in Calabar, Cross River state capital, The Nation reports.

He said Fayose’s exit would bring peace to the party as he (Fayose) is the only PDP governor causing crisis in the party.

He described the Ekiti governor as a loner who was acting a script of his “benefactor” to wreck the PDP.

He said: “He (Fayose) cannot speak for the southwest PDP. The southwest PDP that I know cannot allow the likes of Fayose to be speaking for them.

“Fayose is alone and he is speaking for himself not the PDP of southwest. He is the only governor that is causing problem among the 12 PDP governors that we have today.

“If he wants to leave the party, he should go and there will be peace in the PDP because he is the architect of the crisis in our party.

“For the record, all the southwest PDP chairmen and their leaders are with me. So where is Fayose getting his support base from? He is a alone and he’s just playing the script of his author. He should go if he wants.”

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported that Governor Fayose described Sheriff as a virus that has infected the PDP.

According to Fayose, “God will cure him (Sheriff) permanently".

Fayose made this known in a statement reacting to walk-out of Sheriff on former president Goodluck Jonathan at a stakeholders meeting on Thursday, April 6.

He noted that if Sheriff could not sit with Jonathan then party members should have nothing to do with him.

The governor expressed regrets for the role he played in the emergence of Sheriff as PDP national chairman.

He said it was now obvious that he was working with the enemies of the PDP.
