On Friday, March 31, 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari approved some new appointments into the boards and executive managements of government agencies and parastatals.
Affected agencies, include National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Ministry of Information and Culture.
In a statement made by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, below are some of the new appointments:
NEMA
1. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
Oluyemi Osinbajo is Nigeria's 60-year-old Vice President. Born on March 8, 1957, he has been in office since May 29, 2015.
The president effective April 1, 2017, made him chairman of NEMA.
2. David Babachir Lawal
Babachir David Lawal is the current Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). He was appointed on August 27, 2015 by President Buhari. Once again the president has appointed him, this time to the board of NEMA.

NTA
3. Duro Onabule
Duro Onabule was chief press secretary to military president General Ibrahim Babangida. He writes a popular column in the Daily Sun newspaper and was also a former newspaper editor.
President Buhari has named him chairman of NTA.
Ministry of Information and Culture
4. Tar Ukoh
President Buhari has made Tar Ukoh, the National Theatre and National Troupe of Nigeria's artistic director.
Mr Ukoh is an indigene of Benue state and a retired broadcaster. He was born into a Catholic family and has two children. He named his daughter, Cuba, and his son, Africa.

5. Olusegun Runsewe
Otunba Segun Runsewe, the former Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has now being made National Council for Arts and Culture's Director-General by President Buhari.
